Just a teaser of the vintage finds this week

I've been at it again upset somebody as i gave the seller what he wanted for these Deck chairs while they were trying to bid him down , I will get into trouble one day, lol.

Please dont look at the weeds.

I know a little bit about  Antique linen and love it but i am sure i loose out with my sparse knowledge ,
These were amongst the two suitcases full of linen ,
 They are Beautiful
Any information would be very gratefully received , They look hand sewn but they are so precise i find that hard to believe.

This is so sweet

  1. The deckchairs are fantastic! I can't see the point of haggling with a seller, if you like something just buy it. You snooze, you lose!
The bird picture must have taken someone ages. so pretty! x

    1. Hello meg , Thank you , I have listed them now as hardanger , I am so enjoying myself at the moment most of the linen was sold stained but i am slowly soaking it in stain remover and washing it , I cant wait to show it off , The washing line is full at the moment as we have a rare sunny day xxx

  5. I don't know why some people won't just pay a fair price for things, well done on getting the deckchairs and paying what the seller was asking. SOmetimes a rush to get a bargain can be upsetting for the seller, you did exactly the right thing.

The linens are lovely, I used to sell so much handmade and embroidered stuff in my little shop. but I'm ashamed to say I never really did much research into what I was selling, I just appreciated the work and the beauty and tried to make a fair profit.

  6. Your vintage linen is Lefkara Lace. Not lace at all, but a form of embroidery which was done on linen using silky cotton threads.

I have some pieces which have the same designs as yours that I bought in the late 70's. It washes well and the linen gradually becomes paler with each wash.
