This week i was reminded about plants in my garden reading other bogs like , The scent of Roses (sorry the link did not work ) about herbs and attheendofasuffolklane.blogspot.co.uk about the Tulips , They both reminded me off things in my garden , The Tulips came all the way from Amsterdam a present from our daughter last year , They are only just starting to flower , They are open tulips
.
The Herb planter is coming on this year , I am going to plant some salad leaves around the edge as apparently salad is going to increase in price this year due to a bad winter which i really can't understand as its grown in the summer.
The shrubs i planted to give us some privacy are growing quite tall now , some of them have a long way to go though.
They will be much better when they are all in bloom.
Love this bridal bouquet thingy ( notice i am not an expert gardener lol ).
This was a reduced plant three years ago and its spreading to much now so i am passing some onto my neighbour.
I am not sure if it would do this good or not to prune it , What do you think.

Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteThankyou for the mention.
You do have a lovely size garden, those tulips are going to be beauties, and I love the bread bin as a planter. I am growing lots of lettuce, in fact as much salad as I can really, every time I shop something as gone up, it's getting silly isn't it. I shall do a post about what I am growing in the next week or so. xx
When we had to sell our house and rent it back due to illness and not being able to ever finish the mortgage we had a mutual exchange , The garden did it for us , The house is smaller than our old house , It's on a corner plot so there is lots more than in the pictures xxx
ReplyDeleteAnother one who loves your garden and those tulips are gorgeous. Also very jealous of your ottoman find in your last post. The colours on the top are wonderful due to the plastic. Glad you are back blogging have missed your posts. Hoping your health improves
ReplyDeleteYes i love the garden , Its a young garden yet , I still have so many plans for it , Glad you like my posts , Health wise i just have to get on with it but to be honest i am not to bad at the moment thanks xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the bread planter, inspirational. We are in the process of planting up a herb garden and have started some seasonal salad/veg from seeds so hoping to plant on into containers. You certainly have a lovely garden.
ReplyDeleteThanks , The bread planter was only £1.00 from a jumble sale xxx
DeleteHello, I also love your garden, it looks just enough. I often think gardeners try to push too much in and yours look perfect. I also have an ongoing auto immune illness. It is antiphospholipid syndrome. I had not heard of it when it was diagnosed but I know a lot about it now. Pains include joint and muscle pain and I had a stroke which is what triggered the long drawn out diagnosis. Like you I carry on carrying on, that is all I can do. Therefore when I admire your garden I am also admiring your stoicism and bravery. Love Andie xxx
ReplyDeleteHello Andie , Thanks , I have had to make the garden low maintenance now but still try and do as much as i can , I have not been diagnosed with an autoimmune illness but i have many of the symptoms but its a long process of elimination , Like you i try to keep going some days i feel a fraud but others are dire , I have never heard of your syndrome either , So sorry about your stroke my husband has had two and he is left with permanent shakes that are so bad i have to carry trays in for him etc so i know what you have gone through but we have to plod on don't we what alternative do we have , I am writing this reply at 1.15 am after not being able to sleep yet another one of my symptoms , Hey ho i will try and go back to bed now lol xxx
DeleteLove the bread planter and the colour of your garden furniture.
ReplyDeleteWe did well with our salad leaves last year, Jacob munches his way through loads - as do we! I've just rediscovered a massive bush of mint I planted last year, I'd forgotten all about it! xxx
Thanks vix , Ohh no mint , left to its own devices its spreads , Mine is in a pot in the herb bed xxx
DeleteHave you seen this

Thought you may be interested as you had similar HA Mortgage rescue. Have you been affected also?
Thanks for thinking about me , It was an interesting article but it does now apply to us as our rent is now being reduced because the housing association is making the rents affordable so people cannot do right to buy , Obviously its not something we could do but there are a lot of people out there who want to buy there properties , It would have made a difference if we were still with the hosing association that bought our house initially but we had a mutual exchange to a cheaper housing association , Its a better area but not as nice a house as ours was , Thanks so much for the link though xxx
DeleteI had forgotten that you had moved apologies. At least you wont be affected by the rise in rent which will cause hardship to some people.
ReplyDeleteIts disgusting , Firstly they devalue your house by thousands of pounds then they put your rent up , We lost about £30,000 but we had no choice at the time at least we have a roof over our head xxx
