Very Downton Abbey.
Beautiful Tea pots sets.
And of course the biscuits.
I bought a lot of vintage jewellery at auction.
Does anyone know if these beads are Murano , They are glass.
And this stone looks interesting.
On the frugal front.
Christmas i had a disaster with the second batch of christmas cakes I used a food colouring that i used on the blue and white Christmas cake for my freind
I wanted to make a pillar box red cake with bottle green trees for a traditional look. Not a salmon pink base with florescent green trees lol. I can laugh about it now.
This is what happend with the colours , It caused a great laugh amongst my family and friends , It also gave my great Aunt a laugh when i presented her with a little one wich i always make her every year , This memory will be so special as she passed away just after christmas she was 84 .
I was furious with Morrison though and let them know so i was really pleased when i received these vouchers.
So i stocked up with frozen veg that was on offer and some store cupboard ingredients
XXXX
I need to be a little stronger and complain when goods are not up to scratch. The cakes did make me smile...at the end of the day its what they tasted like. Sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteI get so fed up with shoddy products , The cakes tasted the best ever according to my friend , I ate to much of them as we had two but am now trying to cut out sugar and fat , for how long i dont know lol xxx
ReplyDeleteOMG those tea sets are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLiz
I know would love to keep them xxx
DeleteSorry for the loss of your aunt. Fun last memory to have with her. Morrisons did right by you at least. I always smile at your tea set finds.
ReplyDeleteThanks sam , she really deteriorated the last month so it wasn't a surprise xxx
DeleteThe teapots are lovely, I noticed you sneaked some chocolate in there, a girl just like me x
ReplyDeletelol , You have to have chocolate when its reduced it would be a sin to leave it xxx
DeleteYou always find such wonderful pieces at auction....I would kill for the pink top which looks Edwardian xxxxx
ReplyDeletePS I think real Murano is usually signed
It sold very quick and it sold for a good price , I listed it as Edwardian , Thanks for the tip about murano xxx
DeleteCondolences for your Aunty. Well regarding the cakes , these things are upsetting at the time but in the scheme of things not such a disaster. Nice to hear you got some gift cards and stocked up on some food. Love the blouse and China and other auction stuff , very nice. Hope 2016 is a great year for you. Xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Leisha , The cakes tasted really good though , Thanks for your well wishes xxx
DeleteAlready had a little lust over the jewellery on Facebook - are the little round furry things brooches? They are cute! Your cakes look better than mine, I couldn't be bothered to ice it so I threw a load of "toasted" (I.e slightly scorched!) nuts on top if it. It tasted good though!
ReplyDeleteHello Tracey,s , Depending what i have in my store cupboard i sometimes do one especially for Dave with walnuts all over the top that one less for me to help eat as i hate walnuts lol , Yes the fury things are brooches they are mink from the 1950s early sixties one comes with its original hard plastic box although there is a scratch across the front of the box , I could post them to you if you it should only cost about £3.00 to post just let me know on Facebook if you are interested xxx
DeleteWow some very pretty things there, those cakes gave me a giggle, never got around to making my Xmas cake this year so looks like a very boozy boiled fruit cake is on the cards this week. Those vouchers were great. x
ReplyDeleteLove the China so beautiful. It's so annoying when you buy something and it's not what it should be. I'm pleased they compensated you adaquately.
ReplyDeleteI love your china and auction jewellery, you have a really good eye. The Art Nouveau lady is particularly lovely.
